While study abroad programs often provide incredible opportunities for learning and traveling, the real experience isn’t found inside of a book or on a sunny beach or even at a historical site visit. Kitab (meaning book and also knowledge) is an international non-profit organization dedicated to working with refugee teens and young adults residing in Greece. Kitab creates an individualized education plan for each student, and matches them with college students in Athens and with professionals from anywhere around the world and work towards certification in the careers of their choice.
CYA has become one of the few study abroad programs to be approved by the Bonner Foundation. This means that Bonner students can now study abroad at CYA and complete their volunteer community service in Greece, with the support of CYA’s strong community partnerships.
